EVEL KNIEVEL RIP
The motorcycle world lost one of it's greatest last week when Evel K passed away. He was the original moto jumping hell raiser & blazes the trail for all of the elite motorcycle jumpers for today. Evel began his daredevil career in 1965 touring the world which he performed stunts such as riding wheelies through fire walls, jumping over live rattlesnakes, mountain lions, Sharks and being towed at 200 mph behind dragster race cars. Over his career, Knievel was said to have broken every bone in his body -- some multiple times. One of the most famous incident in 1968, he attempted to jump over the fountains at the Caesars Palace casino in Las Vegas. Which resulted in a crash that put him in a coma for 29 days, but made him who he was today. Evel has been battling bad health for years, suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that took over
his lungs. Knievel had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills. Knievel's death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel on Friday November 30th 2007 Evel had a rough life but made a mark that will never be erased. A great character and a real showman He will be sadly missed RIP and condolences to his family.
